It is an offence under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 for any person knowingly to permit the production, supply or use of controlled substances on their premises except in specified circumstances (e.g. when they have been prescribed by a doctor).
Both drug and alcohol abuse in the workplace are covered by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, 1999. Substance abuse costs businesses time and money every day. Help to protect your company and workers by establishing a program which identifies substance abuse in the workplace and helps to deal with the dangers and consequences likely to occur.
