Violence at Work

Work-related violence is defined as:

"Any incident in which an employee is abused, threatened or assaulted by a work colleague, customer or member of the public in circumstances arising out of the course of his/her employment".

Reports suggest that violence in the workplace is an increasingly common problem for organizations, and that violence - or the threat of it - can be a significant source of stress at work. You should provide a clear statement to employees and service users that violence will not be tolerated.
