Agriculture : Fisheries / Open and Inland Water

If you work on or over water you must make a thorough risk assessment of the task the environment to be worked in and the individuals working. Your life may depend on being able to stay afloat and avoiding exposure, the ability to do this can be severely reduced by poor physical fitness. Fatigue, alcohol and drugs or problems with heart or blood circulation must be identified and dealt with.

Lone working on or around water should also be avoided. A buddy system and planned supervision must be in place and monitored. Safe working arrangements must be put in place and adhered to.
