Office Safety : Reception and First Impressions

First impressions count. The reception area is the first area that many of your visitors/clients/customers will enter and possibly wait in. The reception area is possibly hazardous to clients and you should endeavour to make this area as comfortable and safe as you can.

What could possibly be hazardous about The Reception Area?

First of all, entering the premises:

  • Is the floor space clear, no damaged or fraying mats to trip on?

  • If it's been wet outside can someone entering slip as soon as they enter the premises?

  • Is the pathway clear from promotional boards, displays etc.?

  • Housekeeping is very important both from a safety point of view and to give a good impression to future visitors.
