Chemicals

Chemicals can be classed as Hazardous substances and where you use something that might cause harm, you must assess the risks and put in place measures to control those risks.  This section will help you with the assessment and whether your controls are adequate and if you need to make any changes.   Information about the contents and hazards of the product in use must be indicated on the package or label.  Accurate and complete safety data sheets must be supplied by the supplier.

Hazardous substances can be found in all work environments and can have a range of effects on people.

You need to carry out basic steps to meet the COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2002.
